The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the subsequent criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house which has a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined household cash flow will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are finding out or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All nsfas check students who wish nsfas login to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait nsfas application for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
